The cloud networking mission is redefining how cloud-native apps, built in a microservices architecture, communicate with each other. Our hypothesis is that building a dedicated infrastructure layer for Spotify Engineers can document how well different parts of an application interact, so it becomes easier to optimize communication and avoid downtime as an app grows.
In this role, you will be setting the direction for the cloud networking platform, crafting and then executing a product strategy around areas like service messaging, service discovery, and routing to provide common utilities such as load balancing, rate limiting, circuit breaking, stats, logging, tracing, etc. to polyglot application architectures.
Your work will influence the entirety of the service-to-service communication ecosystem at Spotify. The team is currently engaged in building a next-generation cloud networking platform, using new technologies such as Service Mesh. You will lead teams building the perimeter at Spotify, handling all inbound and outbound traffic for the backend as well as the production networking infrastructure needs. These teams support a plethora of clients securely over a number of protocols. The challenge is to build a very reliable, secure, and efficient cloud networking platform for the Spotify ecosystem at scale.
