As a growth product team, we proactively seek opportunities to drive monthly active users (MAU) by rewarding our users' attention, bringing awareness and engagement with our brand.
We use experimentation to build outstanding technical solutions backed by data. We are looking for a thoughtful, well-rounded experienced web engineer to join our team and help build web properties millions of people use every single day to discover and listen to music and podcasts. You will join a healthy and impactful team, continuously improving our engineering practices, delivering innovative technology while keeping it fun.
What You'll Do:
- Work across the entire web stack, with modern web technologies (Typescript, GraphQL, Node.js, React, and Next.js) and cloud platforms (GKE)
- Build top-of-funnel user experiences to drive MAU and organic traffic
- Work with data scientists, user researchers, designers, and other engineers to build A/B tests that influence the future of Spotify
- Scale-up others’ skills and through mentorship and coaching
- Lead projects that span across teams and engineering fields
- Further the implementation of technical SEO foundations such as server-side rendering
Who You Are:
- Have experience being a technical lead, including project management, delegation, and facilitating communication across teams, on projects with multiple cross-functional contributors
- Passionate about software engineering practices and love to have an impact on a large-scale tech problem
- Have a background in building web products at scale and experience working in a high-growth tech company on a consumer-facing product
- Have an intermediate to sophisticated understanding of JS concepts and web architecture patterns
- Value delivering high-quality products and supporting others in maintaining high standards
- Comfortable working collaboratively on a cross-functional team and reaching out and working with different squads
- You enjoy learning as well as mentoring and passionate about your work, aspiring towards the goals of the team and, ultimately, the Spotify mission -- “giving a million creative artists the opportunity to live off their art and billions of fans the opportunity to enjoy and be inspired by it”
Where You'll Be:
- We are a distributed workforce, enabling our band members to find a work mode that is best for them!
- Where in the world? For this role, it can be within the Americas region in which we have a work location
