The Music Promotion team develops music-native products that help artists and their teams reach the right listeners who will grow to love their music and become fans. Our products are used at scale -- over 1,000,000 active artist teams in Spotify for Artists and more than 380,000,000 listeners. As the Product Insights Manager for Music Promotion, we are looking for a leader with a data science background to help us understand our artist teams and listeners and influence the evolution of our product offering.
You and your team’s work will range from evolving our foundational understanding of artist and label needs in fan development to using advanced statistics to measure the performance and causal impact of promotion products, to prototyping predictive models that can assist artists to promote the right content to the right listeners.
What You'll Do
- Influence the future of our Music Promotion product portfolio by being a subject matter expert in promotion insights and offering clear and persuasive insights in storytelling
- Lead a fast-growing team of data scientists, sales analysts, and user researchers
- Set the insights strategy and roadmap for Music Promotion to create meaningful impact for customers and the business. Your team will design experiments, conduct foundational research, and produce analysis to inform product opportunities
- Ensure we are customer-centric by sharing insights that build customer empathy in our teams and inspire teams to solve the most important customer problems
- Work with cross-functional leaders to select KPIs for the broader organization that motivates pursuit of the product strategy
- Develop insights networks throughout the company to bring past findings and specialized skills into the team to accelerate the team
- Create a diverse and inclusive environment for your team to learn and thrive
Who You Are:
- You have 5+ years of experience in Data Science and 2+ years as a manager. Ideally, some of these years have been in marketing sciences or advertising spaces
- You’ve worked within or alongside product development teams shipping software to users at scale, supporting those teams in live experimentation design, foundational insights, dashboards, and analysis to inform product opportunities
- You ideally have experience with projects that use advanced statistical methods such as causal inference and predictive modeling and have been a part of teams that put ML models into production
- You are excited about leading a multidisciplinary team of user researchers, sales analysts, and data scientists (ideally you have past experience in multi-disciplinary leadership)
- You have executed and led complex projects in problem spaces with high ambiguity and have approaches to crafting a sequenced insights plan to support product teams along the way
- You are a strong insights storyteller and have experience successfully building cross-functional and cross-team collaborations to get things done
- You are user-centric and data-informed. You understand the role and importance of qualitative and quantitative methodologies and when to deploy them
- Ideally, you have experience in a creative industry or with building engaging consumer products at scale
