We are looking for a passionate and seasoned Engineering Director to join Spotify’s Advertising Business and lead the team building our buying interfaces, including our flagship self-serve interfaces - Ad Studio and Ads API.
This rapidly growing group is around 50 people in size, and its focus is on building the advertiser facing interfaces and tools and the underlying services that power our Advertising Business. This role reports to the VP Engineering and technical leader of the Advertising Business.

What you'll do
- Be the technical leader of the Spotify Ad Studio and Ads API businesses, serving internal and external customers.
- Grow, teach and lead a team of Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers.
- Be an active partner to your Product, Design and Insights peers as part of your role in being an effective leadership team for the whole group.
- Coach, mentor and grow the leadership teams of the squads within the group, so they form and sustain high performing engineering teams.
- Inspire, manage and lead the engineering part of our group, so they are productively engaged and growing.
- Shepherd the engineering culture, so we can achieve our mission.
- Be part of the team that’s setting the strategy for the Advertising Business.
Who you are
- You can draw on substantial depth and breadth of management experience to lead and grow a team of engineering managers.
- You have solid experience managing the organizational design and leadership challenges that come with hyperscaling an engineering group.
- You are a domain expert in digital advertising, preferably with experience in advertiser focused products.
- You are experienced at mentoring and coaching the leadership teams of your organization.
- You have built a learning organization and are continuously learning as a leader.
